I got a scholarship from Duke Tip,and I'm only 9 years old!It's a lot of studying,but worth it!

I was involved in TIP as a student in an underfunded rural district. It made a huge difference in my life. I went on to earn a Ph.D. at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, in no small part because TIP gave a few people the idea that it would be worthwhile to invest in me. It was.

I went there as a child. It has been almost two decades, but it still stands out as one of the best experiences of my youth.

I feel disappointed in the experience that my child had in the Duke TIP program at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.

It was amazing! Everyone there is so accepting and supportive, and the classes are so informative and challenging. I had the time of my life!

I cannot praise Duke TIP enough. I participated in the summer program last year at Davidson College, and the three weeks that I spent there were truly fantastic. Some people might call it a "nerd camp," but there were so many fascinating individuals there that were just normal kids. The program provided an excellent ground for social interaction, and I made a few friends to whom I am still close even a year later. The academic experience is very challenging and rigorous, but also exciting and extremely fun. I took foreign policy, and my instructor and teaching assistant were both excellent. I learned so much from the course, and I'm so glad to have taken it. I'm returning this year to the summer program held at Duke East Campus, where I will be taking a class on existentialism. One of my close friends from last year is also coming to Duke East for the same term; she is taking Strategic Entrepreneurial Leadership. The program is excellent. I am immensely happy to have participated last year, and I am thrilled to be a part of this years summer program as well.

Duke was an amazing experience for me and has really helped to prepare me for college (I just finished my freshman year). I look back on my 3 years at TIP as literally the best experiences of my life.

My daughter was selected for the TIP program in 4th and 5th grades due to her acedemic excellence. Unfortunately my daughter is no longer with us and being selected for this program was her greatest achievement. I am very grateful to this program for encouraging my little girl to be the best she could be in her short life.

Duke TIP is one of the most amazing programs availible for gifted students. I am a rising senior in High School and a member of TIP. I have studied Marine Biology on the Coast of North Carolina, Biology at Clemson University, and Shakespeare at Appalachian State. All of my expreiences have left me a wealth of knowledge, and a circle of friends whom I converse with often. This summer I plan to travel to Costa Rica and study Tropical Medicine and EthnoBiology with Duke TIP. I would recommend this program to anyone who qualifies.

My child participated in the Duke TIP. She was selected to participate because of her ACT score as a 7th grader. We were then offered information from all over the country on summer programs geared toward her special talents and interests. It proved to be one of the best educational experiences she has had.

I have just gone through the Algebra 2 course at Davidson College, and it was extremely thorough. The instructors are open to questions at any time, and so are the Teaching Assistants. In the free time, there are many fun activities to participate in, and they range from going to a nearby coffeeshop to playing sports.

I'm going to the Duke TIP program at Davidson College this summer - I'll be taking Foreign Policy. I've heard so many really great things about this three-week program. I was selected to be eligible because of my SAT score (I'm entering 8th grade, and have participated in MAP and TIP) which I took in January.
Student on 5/24/2016
I have been a member of TIP since this year. Before that, I was a member of MAP in 4th,5th, and 6th grade. Both programs provided me and my parents with information about the programs available to me, and information on the SAT I. The SAT was the best learning opportunity ever given to me. I am definitely going to take it every year from now on!
