    This textbook is for general students and lay readers and is about vertebrate paleontology. The book provides an account of the evolution of backboned animals as based on the fossil record. It offers no discussion of the principles or mechanisms of evolution, but primarily surveys the fossil record over the past 500 million years or so.
    Conceptual Physics (9th edition)
    This introductory physics textbook focuses primarily on the concepts of physics; a minimal amount of mathematics is needed, unlike other high school physics programs. This is a standard student textbook; optional teachers' guides and lab manuals may be purchased separately, but would augment the program a great deal.

    Electing the President: An Interactive Simulation on the Electoral Process
    This book is a motivating, hands-on simulation that lets students experience the exciting process of electing the President and Vice President of the United States. As the two parties square off, students take on the roles of candidates, convention delegates, and members of the Electoral College. The book includes complete teacher instructions and all necessary student handouts to provide an easy-to-stage simulation that can be used with small or large groups.
    Elementary Algebra
    This basic Algebra I textbook is unique in that it uses a literary and game-like approach to introduce each new topic and concept in algebra. Many cartoons are used to illustrate various concepts, as are excerpts from literature. The program uses traditional exercises. An optional teacher's manual is also available.

    Known for many years as Barron's Easy Way Series, the new editions of these popular self-teaching titles are now Barron's E-Z Series. Written primarily for high school and college-101 students, this edition covers all important chemistry topics, including atomic structure, bonding, chemical formulas, gases, chemical calculations, liquids, solids, and phase changes, chemical reactions, acids, bases, salts, electrochemistry, the basics of organic chemistry, and other related subjects.

    Growing Up Gifted: Developing the Potential of Children at Home and at School
    Barbara Clark's Growing Up Gifted is a textbook for gifted education studies. While it doesn't focus on the highly gifted, it does offer a good overview of the research in various areas of gifted education and development. Click here to read a review of this book.
    Handbook of Gifted Education, 3rd Edition
    The 3rd edition of this classic text is a comprehensive resource addressing important research-based considerations in gifted education. Many respected professionals have contributed chapters that cover the following topics: conceptions and identification; instructional models and practices; creativity, thinking skills, and eminence; psychological and counseling issues; populations of giftedness; and special topics, including technology, rural schools, and legal issues.
    Handbook of Secondary Gifted Education
    This in-depth textbook, edited by Dixon and Moon, helps educators interested in building effective and comprehensive educational programs for gifted students. Each chapter is written by a leading scholar that researches in the field.     This is a series of math and language arts books in which each text is written in the style of a novel with a humorous story line. Each section tells part of the life of Fred Gauss and how, in the course of his life, he encounters the need for math and language arts. Written by Dr. Stanley Schmidt with the intent to make the subjects come alive, the series covers grade levels beginning in Kindergarten and expanding all the way to college-level material.
    McGuffey's Eclectic Primer, Revised Edition
    A reprint of the nineteenth century classic reading primer. Still by far the best self study book for new readers. The use of pictures and review sections reinforce the learning and make it easy for kids to progress.
    Multicultural Gifted Education, 2nd ed.
    This book bridges the gap that exists between educating advanced learners and educating culturally different learners. It addresses various topics, including racially and culturally diverse students and families, historical and legal perspectives on educating gifted and minority students, culturally responsive curriculum and assessment, and counseling students from a multicultural perspective.
    Real World Algebra: Understanding the Power of Mathematics
    This text book by Edward Zaccaro provides a fun and easily comprehended way to learn algebra. Filled with cartoons, drawings, and real-world problems, this book is a great tool to motivate and encourage the elementary student.
    Re-forming ( Reforming ) Gifted Education: How Parents and Teachers Can Match the Program to the Child
    Written by Karen Rogers, this is a research-based book that discusses acceleration of students, grouping within the school setting, and program provisions both in and outside of school. Rogers spells out and categorizes ways for schools, teachers, and parents to meet the needs of gifted children, including which students will benefit from particular instructional delivery methods and how each student need can best be addressed.
