National Geographic Bee
The contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark students interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography.

Engine-Uity
Engine-Uity has been offering gifted teaching materials (K-12) since 1980. The materials are keyed to Bloom's Taxonomy with emphases on research and literature. Some materials are K-3 specific; others are geared for 4-8; others for 7-12. Beginning research includes short-term non-fiction. More in depth materials (e.g. Learning Centers and RATS Packs) are available for more sophisticated learners. Reading Centers for popular trade books number in the hundreds.
World of 7 Billion
This national program provides a strong emphasis on curriculum and professional development for K-12 educators, focusing on human population issues. Since 1975, the program has developed age-appropriate curricula to complement students’ science and social science instruction about human population trends and their impacts on natural resources, environmental quality and human well-being. The organization also offers a Student Video Contest about human population growth that highlights a global challenge.

A Trip Around the World
This book contains lesson plans, maps, facts, words and phrases, and activities are provided for 15 countries on six different continents helping students learn about countries and cultures around the world. Other curriculum areas are incorporated in the activities provided along with teaching notes, blackline maps, extension activities, a list of foreign words and phrases, and a bibliography of fiction and non-fiction books for each country to help to organize the study.
Everything You Need To Know (Book Series)
Written by Anne Zeman and Kate Kelly, this book series includes titles such as
Everything You Need To Know
about American History; about World History; about Geography; about Math Homework; about English; and many more.
The Geography Coloring Book
The Geography Coloring Book provides an opportunity for students to make their own brightly colored world atlas and reference book. Even without coloring the book, it is an easily accessible world reference book. There is descriptive text which provides information and background, both physical and political, and instructions on how to use the book. There is also an index including a dictionary that can be used for two kinds of quizzes.
The Macmillan Visual Desk Reference
Contains 4,000 illustrations, diagrams & charts, timelines, maps and graphics. Covers 1,100 key topics, 52 subject areas. Provides "quick access" to a "wealth of facts". Text is comprehensive, information precise, understandable and enjoyable. "Researchers, writers, students and information lovers of every kind will find [it]...with its innovative approach and encyclopedic scope, as essential as a dictionary and as absorbing as a favorite novel."
The Reader's Digest Children's Atlas of the World
This is a home reference that will give kids a deeper understanding of the fast changing world. Detailed full-color maps and artwork bring the world into sharper focus. Did-you-knows draw attention and hold it, to maximize learning about everything from ecosystems to the solar system.

This magazine is published by the Smithsonian Institution. Its subject matter is eclectic, though mostly centered around history of cultures, art, language, geography, and sciences. Though targeted at adults, many articles are suitable for intelligent children as well.

This site is home to Runkle Publishing, whose programs use a mapping method that is very structured and uses all four methods of learning. Students will read, speak, listen and manipulate on a daily basis.

This organization provides resources and professional development opportunities for elementary and secondary school teachers, with the goal of furthering geography education throughout the State of Colorado. They offer lesson plans, maps, and other information, such as articles and links to similar organizations.
Encyclopedia.com
Encyclopedia.com, the Internet's premiere free encyclopedia, provides users with more than 57,000 frequently updated articles from the Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. Each article is enhanced with links to newspaper and magazine articles as well as pictures and maps - all provided by HighBeam Research.
KidsGeo.com - A Study of The Earth And Her People
Games and challenges such as Geography Map Match, were developed by the KidsKnowIt Network to help students develop and sharpen their geography skills. There is also a Latiitude and Logitude Map game that helps students practice the concepts of latitude and longitude by finding a person based on stated co-ordinates.
