New Mexico - Albuquerque Association for Gifted & Talented Students (AAGTS) (Albuquerque, NM)
Albuquerque Association for Gifted & Talented Students (AAGTS) is a nonprofit organization for parents and teachers dedicated to maximizing the potential of gifted children in New Mexico. It provides an extensive library of materials available for checkout at regularly scheduled meetings. AAGTS, founded in 1975, takes a strong advocacy role in connection with public school programs and services for gifted children. The organization also sponsors an annual fall conference highlighting gifted issues.

American Psychology Association (APA) (DC)
"Based in Washington, DC, the American Psychological Association (APA) is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychology in the United States. With more than 150,000 members, APA is the largest association of psychologists worldwide."
Center for Development and Learning (CDL)
The Center for Development and Learning (CDL) is a private nonprofit mission-driven organization that specializes in development and dissemination of leading edge research, knowledge, training and best practices from diverse yet related fields that impact educational success. CDL was conceived to help turn the cycle of frustration and failure into hope and success for children with nontraditional learning profiles.
Core Knowledge
Dedicated to excellence and fairness in early education, the Core Knowledge Foundation is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan organization. The Foundation conducts research on curricula, develops books and other materials for parents and teachers, offers workshops for teachers, and serves as the hub of a growing network of Core Knowledge schools. The "Core Knowledge" movement is an educational reform based on the premise that a grade-by-grade core of common learning is necessary to ensure a sound and fair elementary education.
Excellence Through Classics
This organization nurtures and supports the teaching of Classics at the elementary and middle school levels by providing a forum for intellectual stimulation, dialogue and development. Newsletters, conferences and seminars are all available.
Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE)

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age 8. NAEYC is committed to becoming an increasingly high performing and inclusive organization. Founded in 1926, NAEYC is the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children with more than 100,000 members, a national network of nearly 450 local, state, and regional Affiliates, and a growing global alliance of like-minded organizations.
National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science & Technology
The Consortium aims to foster and support specialized schools in mathematics, science and technology, and provide a forum for these schools to exchange information and program ideas. Each year the consortium holds a student conference in which "the leaders of tomorrow's scientific community may come to share ideas and concepts that may better the future. At such meetings, intelligent young people confront the burning problems of today's world with their fresh initiative. Here, leaders are born and minds are shaped."
National Council for History Education
The National Council for History Education is a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the importance of history in schools and in society. The Council is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations. NCHE links history in the schools with many activities sponsored by state and local organizations. We provide a communications network for all advocates of history education, whether in schools, colleges, museums, historical councils, or community groups.
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
The mission of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is to provide the vision and leadership necessary to ensure a mathematics education of the highest quality for all students. Founded in 1920, NCTM is the world's largest mathematics education organization, with more than 100,000 members and 250 Affiliates throughout the United States and Canada.
National Education Association (NEA)
The National Education Association (NEA) is the nation's largest professional employee organization and is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA's members work at every level of education, from pre-school to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state, as well as in more than 14,000 local communities across the United States.
National PTA
"National PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the United States. A not-for-profit association of parents, educators, students, and other citizens active in their schools and communities, PTA is a leader in reminding our nation of its obligations to children."
National Society for the Gifted & Talented™ (NSGT), (Stamford, CT)
The NSGT is a non-profit foundation that honors and encourages gifted and talented children and youth by providing recognition of their significant academic and artistic accomplishments and access to educational resources and advanced learning opportunities directly related to their interests and talent areas.
The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE)
The American Society for Engineering Education is a nonprofit member association dedicated to promoting and improving engineering and technology education. ASEE is more than 12,000 deans, professors, instructors, students and industry representatives.
The College Board
The College Board is a national nonprofit membership association whose mission is to prepare, inspire, and connect students to college success and opportunity. Founded in 1900, the association is composed of more than 4,300 schools, colleges, universities, and other educational organizations.
The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA)
This organization focuses on promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning. Science education is endorsed and there are a number of initiatives, one of which is to build a presence for science - promoting standards-based science teaching and learning. There are numerous science resource links and information - designed for professional development of science teachers. A discussion board, career center and newsletter are some of the other features.

Alabama Association for Gifted Children (AAGC) (AL)
The Alabama Association for Gifted Children (AAGC) is promotes the importance of an appropriate education for gifted students by: Serving as a public advocate concerning the needs of gifted young people; Facilitating the exchange of information concerning gifted students; Encouraging research on the best ways of effectively addressing the cognitive and affective needs of gifted youth, and on the social significance of properly educating them; Facilitating and assisting the development of local organizations to support gifted education.
Arizona Association for Gifted & Talented (AAGT) (AZ)
Arizona Association for Gifted & Talented (AAGT) was formed in 1974 by a dedicated group of parents and teachers who saw the need for a unified voice to represent the state's gifted children. AAGT publishes a newsletter, ePotential and is currently scheduled to be produced quarterly.
Arkansans for Gifted & Talented Education (AGATE) (AR)
AGATE is an independent organization promoting excellence in education, particularly as it relates to gifted and talented children and youth in Arkansas.

California Association for the Gifted (CAG) (CA)
California Association for the Gifted (CAG) is an organization of educators and parents dedicated to meeting the unique needs of gifted and talented students.
Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented (CAGT) (CO)
The purpose of the Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented (CAGT) is to foster an understanding of all gifted children and their exceptional needs, and to advocate for appropriate education through partnerships with educators, parents, administrators, legislators, and the general public.
Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG) (CT)
The mission of the Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG) is to provide an organization for educators, psychologists, parents, policy makers, and others to learn about the unique educational and affective needs of gifted and talented children and how to meet these needs effectively in our schools, families, and communities. It recognizes that gifted children come from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and have diverse abilities and interests.
Delaware Talented and Gifted (DE TAG)
Delaware TAG is a nonprofit statewide organization and state affiliate of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). The organization is run by volunteers who are parents and teachers of gifted children. DE TAG offers support and resources for parents, teachers, and students through social media, local meetings, and family events.
Florida Association for the Gifted (FLAG) (FL)
The Florida Association for the Gifted (FLAG) provides support for gifted students, their parents and teachers through conferences, teaching grants, and scholarships and offers a variety of service to its members, including newsletters.
Georgia Association for Gifted Children (GAGC) (GA)
The mission of the Georgia Association for Gifted Children (GAGC) is to advocate for gifted children and youth by working with educators, parents, policy-makers, and the community to meet the needs of the gifted.
Hawaii Gifted Association (HGA) (HI)
The mission of Hawaii's state gifted association is to enrich the lives of the gifted and talented learners, their parents, community and educators. Established in the early 1990s, this organization works to advocate for the gifted and talented individual.
Idaho - The Association for the Gifted (ITAG) (ID)
This advocacy and professional group works to improve the availability and quality of information, programs, and training for gifted and talented education in Idaho.
Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC) (IL)
The Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC) is a not-for-profit corporation that was established in 1989 by a small group of educators who wanted to create a voice for gifted education within their state. The organization works to further opportunities for gifted students, and to better understand their educational and social/emotional needs. Gifted educators, parents of gifted children, and other individuals continue to support the IAGC mission and related goals.

Kentucky Association for Gifted Education (KAGE) (KY)
Organized in 1979 and located on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, this association for gifted education is a non-profit volunteer group of parents, teachers, administrators and all citizens interested in being advocates for appropriate educational opportunities for gifted and talented youth in Kentucky.
Louisiana - Association for Gifted and Talented Students of Louisiana (AGTSLA) (LA)
The Association of Gifted and Talented Students of Louisiana (AGTSLA) was established to promote the education of Louisiana's gifted and talented students and to insure the continued implementation of legislation that protects the valuable services that educational institutions provide for these students. Parents of gifted students have the opportunity to meet and learn more about important issues affecting their children. Teachers of the gifted and talented have numerous professional development opportunities.
Maine Educators of the Gifted and Talented (MEGAT) (ME)
The Maine Educators of the Gifted and Talented (MEGAT) seeks to further the common good of gifted education in Maine. The organization disseminates news and information to parents and professionals interested in gifted and talented youth and works collaboratively with the State Department, university system and other appropriate organizations in providing training statewide.
Maryland Coalition for Gifted and Talented Education (MCGATE) (MD)
The Maryland Coalition for Gifted and Talented Education (MCGATE) is a statewide parent/professional advocacy group. Membership in MCGATE is open to Maryland's local county advocacy groups, individual parents, students, educators, administrators, concerned citizens, and businesses. Work is done on the national, state, and local levels and with other educational associations to build support for gifted children in Maryland.

The Massachusetts Association for Gifted Education (MAGE) is a non-profit organization of parents, administrators, educators, and professionals in both business and human services who share a recognition of the need to foster the growth and development of gifted and talented individuals in the state.
Minnesota Council for Gifted and Talented (MCGT) (MN)
The Minnesota Council for Gifted and Talented (MCGT) is a state-wide organization of parents, educators, administrators and professional people who live or work with gifted children and are interested in their education and well-being. MCGT's mission is to promote better understanding of, and educational services for gifted and talented children.
Minnesota Educators of Gifted and Talented (MNEGT) (MN)
The Minnesota Educators of Gifted and Talented (MEGT) promotes and supports the professional preparation of teachers and other educational professionals, cooperates with other organizations and agencies in efforts to promote the education, funding and welfare of gifted and talented students, and encourages scholarly research and the dissemination of information pertaining to gifted and talented children in school and society.

Mississippi Association for Gifted Children (MAGC) serves as a public advocate for gifted students. The organization provides members with: an annual conference to supply training relevant to the education of gifted children and youth; publications and information for teachers and families of gifted children; student scholarships and teacher grants; workshops and special training sessions for parents and teachers; and a number of other resources.
New Hampshire Association for Gifted Education (NHAGE) (NH)
The goals of the New Hampshire Association for Gifted Education (NHAGE) include: to promote appropriate education of gifted and talented children especially within the state of New Hampshire; networking with professionals in the field; provide opportunities for professional development in the field of gifted education; and to serve as liaison to the NH Department of Education and the state legislature.
New Jersey Consortium for Gifted and Talented Programs (NJCGTP), (NJ)
The New Jersey Consortium for Gifted and Talented Programs is an organization dedicated to providing a special forum for teachers and students involved in gifted education. Membership is open to any school district in New Jersey interested in specialized programs for the gifted.

New Mexico Association for the Gifted (NMAG) is a nonprofit organization of gifted education professionals who join together to advocate for gifted education in the state and to address the unique social, emotional and intellectual needs of gifted students.

Ohio Association for Gifted Children (OAGC) (OH)

Tennessee Initiative for Gifted Education Reform (TIGER) (TN)
The purpose of Tennessee Initiative for Gifted Education Reform (TIGER) is to support programs, policy initiatives, and legislation that will expand and enhance advanced educational opportunities for PreK-12 students in Tennessee, and to foster an understanding of gifted children and their exceptional needs. TIGER provides a communication network for parents, educators, policy makers, and other members of the community who are interested in promoting these goals.

The Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) is an organization of educators, parents, and friends of the gifted. Chartered in 1978, TAGT is the nation’s largest state advocacy group of its kind, providing about 4,000 members with a forum for the exchange of ideas and information about the education of gifted and talented students. TAGT's mission is to promote awareness of the unique social, emotional, and intellectual needs of gifted and talented students and to impact the development of appropriate educational services to meet those needs.
Utah Association for Gifted Children (UAGC) (UT)
The Utah Association for Gifted Children (UAGC) is a non-profit, statewide organization of parents, students, and educators dedicated to the educational needs of gifted and talented children in the state. The organization promotes the concept that educating gifted youth to their fullest potential is not only in their best interest but their right, and will ultimately benefit us all.
Virginia Association for the Gifted (VAG) (VA)
The Virginia Association of the Gifted (VAG) is a statewide organization of parents, educators, and community leaders that advocates appropriate instruction for all gifted learners. The association supports research in gifted education and advocates specialized preparation for educators of the gifted. It also disseminates information, maintains a statewide network of communication, and cooperates with organizations and agencies to improve the quality of education in the state.

The Washington Association of Educators of the Talented & Gifted (WAETAG) is a non-profit organization which supports the education of gifted and talented persons through an annual conference for professionals and with a web site and newsletter filled with resources relevant to gifted youth and educators.
West Virginia Association for Gifted & Talented (WVAGT) (WV)
The West Virginia Association for Gifted & Talented (WVAGT) promotes the education of the gifted and talented in the state, coordinates the efforts of gifted educators within the state, provides a communication network for individuals interested in the education of gifted and talented youth, and disseminates gifted education information to educators, parents, and public officials.

The Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted (WATG) is a non-profit organization of parents, students, educators, business and industry personnel, and other interested persons who are dedicated to fostering a climate in the home, school, and community that allows each individual to reach his or her unique potential. WATG maintains a statewide Board of Directors, representing educators, school administrators, parents, business, and higher education.

This is is the Center for Excellence in Education's program for middle and high school STEM teachers. TEP provides opportunities for rural and urban teachers to connect with experts from industry and academia to explore cutting edge research and make meaningful professional links with direct benefits for themselves and their students. All online resources and events are cost-free for all participants.

Just ASK provides consulting services, publications, and products for educators. Just ASK uses a common language and concept system to provide a systemic approach to teaching, learning and leading in the 21st century. National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC)
For more than two decades, National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) has led a movement linking youths, educators, and communities to redefine the role of young people in society. That movement is service-learning, and it empowers youths to transform themselves from recipients of information and resources into valuable, contributing members of a democracy. Service-learning is a teaching method that enriches learning by engaging students in meaningful service to their schools and communities through a process that is carefully integrated with established learning objectives. It emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving; takes on real issues such as hunger, homelessness, and diversity; and values people of all ages as citizens with talents to offer.
