    Academy of Achievement
    The Academy of Achievement sparks the imagination of students by bringing them into direct contact with the greatest thinkers and achievers of their age. The annual International Achievement Summit has provided thousands of outstanding students with an experience in which they draw inspiration, courage and strength from those who have shaped today's world.

    Imaginate Ink
    Imaginate Ink is a private creative mentorship program founded twenty years ago by Clarissa Ngo after she graduated from Harvard.
    Since 1998, Clarissa's students have learned to make things that matter to solve world problems and write and speak with power and eloquence. Eight of her students have given TED talks as kids, while others founded multi-national companies as young adults and charities with global impact as kids. After graduating from Harvard, Clarissa developed a method that lights young people on fire to help the world and learn to communicate with passion, which not only helps them gain admission to dream colleges but more importantly, teaches them real world skills. Clarissa teaches virtually worldwide, and her students win national and international awards in all subjects. Her youngest student is four and her oldest, 70. She also coaches CEOs.     An independent study program for homeschooled students, Carmel Institute guides junior high and high school students through project-based, multidisciplinary curricula that is fully individualized to meet each student's interests and learning needs. The online school mentors students through individualized, multi-disciplinary, project-based curriculum that integrates the theory and practice of STEM into all core subject areas.     Computers as Tutors: Solving the Crisis in Education
    In this book, Frederick Bennett lays out the difficulties present in contemporary American education and reveals why the millions of newly added computers in schools have been largely ineffectual. Bennett describes how computers, if used differently, will enable every student without exception to succeed in school. The key is individualized instruction. A private tutor in the form of a computer will allow each pupil to learn at his or her own comfort rate.

    This website -- the Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University -- now contains more than 1 Gigabyte of writing-related material, with new material being added almost every month. The web site contains hypertext workshops and subject tutorials on writing research papers, resumes, and cover letters, huge collections of links to help users find information on the Internet, PowerPoint presentations about all aspects of writing that can be downloaded for use in classes or individual study, and a voluminous quantity of web pages that cover all aspects of writing – from cover letters to commas.

    Chase Hill School for Literary Arts
    This is a small distance learning school that provides high-quality tutorials for adults and children 10 and older. Tutorials offer genuine, constructive interaction between student and teacher and complete flexibility with regard to both assignments and genres, in order to accommodate each student's unique gifts and interests.

    This organization combines online instruction from nationally recognized experts with the personal touch of local coaches, who offer students face-to-face guidance and support. Nationally recognized computer science educators provide online, College Board-approved instruction.     Math and Music Studio
    John Rosasco has a math tutoring and consulting business in Los Angeles that specializes in acceleration of gifted math students. As a musical composer and a mathematician, John believes that math should be taught to gifted students as an art form. From his viewpoint, a math lesson is similar to a piano lesson or a voice lesson. John teaches his students to memorize, perform and create in math, much like how a music teacher coaches and trains an artist to perform.

    Search for online tutors through the Chegg Tutors website. Tutors are available in the following disciplines: math, humanities, business, foreign languages, programming and science. Students can work with someone instantly or schedule a lesson with a preferred tutor at a convenient time. Students can chat with tutors or use video, upload documents and write on a shared whiteboard.

Students can take on challenges that help them master the skills necessary to perform up to their state’s standards. The website offers unlimited problems and over 1,000 topics, ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade. The website also offers a reports component that teachers and parents can use to monitor student progress.

    Vida John prepares gifted math students for math contests like MathCounts and AMC, and tutors students using curriculum published by the Art of Problem Solving exclusively. She hosts the AMC competition and coaches a homeschooled MathCounts team every year. As a Stanford-trained engineer and former mathlete, Vida believes problem solving skills are necessary for success in all STEM fields.
