A student who attends THINK is commonly referred to as a "THINKer." A typical student is ready for a challenging academic experience. They are prepared to take entry level college work at a younger age, while living away from home in a structured, supervised environment. Meet some past THINKers below!
Home State: Maryland School Type: Homeschool Educational/career interests: I love math and science, but I also dance and play jazz piano. I'm not quite sure what I want to do in the future but as long as it involves a supportive group of people and creative problem solving I'll be happy. Years at THINK: 4 Has participation at THINK influenced your interests? My most recent classes at THINK opened me up to the social sciences, and the THINK experience as a whole has influenced my college selection process. Why did you choose THINK? I had been involved with Davidson summer programs for a long time, so it followed naturally that I attended THINK when I was 13. I loved it so much that I decided to come back and haven't stopped since! Why would you recommend THINK to someone else? THINK is by far the best summer program I've attended with the most diverse and fun group of students, staff, and faculty. THINK is a great way to earn college credits while meeting a great group of kids. Especially if you've never taken a college class before, THINK is a rigorous but fun way to get started.
“History and Law” Years at THINK: 2 Why did you return to THINK? “Really enjoyed it, both the social and academic aspects of THINK” Why would you recommend THINK to someone else? “THINK was a very enjoyable experience for me. It allowed me great social as well as academic opportunities, and the ability for the first time to explore an academic environment by myself.”
Why did you choose THINK? “I thought it would be really interesting to do college courses, and it just sounded fun.” Why would you recommend THINK to someone else? “I've been to a few other summer programs, and THINK was by far the best. I learned so much and made some amazing friends that I still keep in touch with. THINK is a great opportunity for people who are really interested in expanding their horizons while having fun.”
